Aboriginal Counselling Services Association of Alberta
Provides Aboriginal specific support services to individuals, families and communities. Provides counselling and support in family violence situations. Offers courses and workshops that may include parenting, teen relationships, and family violence.
Provides settlement services, workshops, employment mentoring program, help with income tax forms; offers citizenship classes, English as a Second Language, Family Violence Prevention Program, Seniors Support Program, Pre-employment Life Skills Program.
Provides general legal information through prerecorded tapes on: consumer law, courts, criminal law, employment law, family law, immigration law, landlord/tenant law, real state law, wills and state law, youth and the law. Callers may access the lawyer referrals services through Dial-A-Law.
Provides safe housing free of charge for 60 days for seniors (60 yrs+) wanting to leave an abusive situation; provides meals, snacks, support, information, outreach & follow up, connections to community resources, and practical assistance.
